Appearance:

Surrounded by the Zodiac, the Sun, our most important star.  Shining brightly upon us, and portrayed as a yellow Lotus blossom. 

The petals of the sun-flower are made up of concentric rings. 

A halo of pure white light surrounds the lotus and fans-out into rays of sunlight, whilst at the same time zodiacal light beams in on the Sun.

This hieroglyph indicates that there are still initiates walking our Earth, harboring solar secrets, some call this mysterious information "ineffable".

The golden rays are shining down on a fertile hillside. 

As the Earth reaches upwards, a golden ring wraps all the way around the hilltop, and two buttons are stamped in metals at the bottom. These buttons are symbols of the Rose Cross.

Seemingly without a care, the twins dance naked in the sunlight. They are standing next to each other in the position of the number 11, and they are raising their arms in a "V" sign.  In agreement, both twins are reaching for the heavens, unrestrained, yet morally held in-check by the presence of the stamped medallions and the golden Ring of Rosie.

We have an emblem for our current Aeon and a prediction of the coming Aquarian Aeon, in nature herself reaching for the heavens, and surrounded by the golden ring of moral character. This ring is holding the laws-of-nature in-check, which is the same as the hieroglyph of the Rosicrucian buttons.

The rays of the sun hit the frame of this card in Aquarian refraction, with subtle Piscean residuals. These colored reflections represent for the current transformation from the Age of Pisces, into the Age of Aquarius.

All light is made up of outgoing and incoming light. The incoming rays are sent out from the Astrological realms directly into our universe, where we soak them up, and where the Sun magickally processes them into the golden light that we are made of through the friction of manifestation.  Initiates of the past would have stated implicitly that the Sun was not hot, and that all perceived heat was generated from within the earth.

Interpretation:

Like XVII Star, this card will illuminate a reading more than define it. This would be normal as the Sun and the Stars are made of the same essence. The difference with the Sun card, is that its blessings will address the material world and its manifestations on a level that is defined by the surrounding cards.

For example the XIX Sun can shed light on a situation. 

Combined with the Hierophant it would signify a confirmation in a newly found understanding.

The Princess of Disks combined with the XIX Sun, the 7 of Swords, V Hierophant, and the Princess of Swords would signify that your younger materialistic sister just realized that she will never understand her emotional sister.

The Prince of Swords combined with XIX Sun, 7 of Cups, IV Emperor, and the 4 of Wands could signify that your immature buddy may be caught at work drinking and lose his job.

The same Prince of Swords combined with XIX Sun, the Knight of Cups, the 3 of Wands, and XIV ART card could symbolize that this same person found out that one of his friends was not a contributing factor to this firing.

For the most part it is very nice to see XIX Sun in any reading. The lesser amount of cards that are involved in a reading, the brighter this card shines on Assaiah. As you add more cards to your reading; XIX Sun starts to illuminate situations and circumstance instead of matter.

This card has movement, and would represent understanding and transformation. The surrounding cards will tell how, what, where, and with whom this understanding and transformation take place.

The Mysteries:

The Light & the Lotus symbolize a double measure of knowledge. 

Some would translate this as Heru Ra Ha coming forth in golden light, or even as Osiris in the east, which is portrayed in the next card "XX Aeon".

From an aeonic perspective, this card is an emblem of the ages, symbolic of all the coming ages, even the cycle itself.  On a personal level, the Initiate is well beyond the knowledge and conversation of his higher self, he/she has become his/her higher self, and now radiates like the Sun. The invisible rays that emanate from the initiate are of the same essence as the stars. neo

The dancing twins are representative of the separation of the animal and the spiritual aspects in man. They dance together in unison, they are separate, yet they are one, much like a yin-yang symbol. These polar opposites have married, positive/negative, male/female, Ida & Pingala Nadi, etc. This marriage could be considered one of the highest aspects of spiritual alchemy.

It is very interesting to note that: if you slightly cross your eyes, and line up the buttons at the bottom of the hill, you will see a third twin. She is in a very promiscuous position.

Surrounded by the Rosicrucian emblems of morals and character, this would symbolize the Initiate achieving control of his lower instincts. This control, better known as "Sexual Magick", is widely misunderstood and is a key in awakening the solar consciousness.

Initiation at this level is almost unobtainable, as the solar consciousness is above the astral, and should be considered as one of the highest phases or developmental levels achievable as a living human. neo

On a slightly more mundane level, invocation of Sol and the subsequent meditations can lead to an interesting philosophy, whereas the aspirant realizes that everything in his/her sphere of consciousness; is actually a reflection of the solar ray.

I MAGUS - Magus of Power - Glowing or Transparent Consciousness

Forward: The traditional card was called The Juggler, and the Hebrew attribution could have been Aleph or Beth depending on the deck. In the old card the Fool topped with the Hat of Infinity, stood Juggling or raising the Hollow Wand of Prometheus (a hollow wand with a round knob at each end) with his right hand, and pointing down with his empty left hand, while all his magickal implements lay un-utilized on the table. On the Morgan Greer pack, his staff and sword lay crossed near a red rose, symbolizing the Rose Cross. Both the traditional card and the Thoth would represent the aspirant awakening to the mystery, and starting to develop spiritualism and personal dogmas.

Appearance: In 0 F00L we discussed the "three paths of initiation": I MAGUS could be considered as synonymous with 0 F00L's adventures while on his second trip through the paths of Initiation. 

He has now shed his green 0 F00L's suit and is soaking up the rays of S0L as I MAGUS. Flying in the air all around this androgynous archetype are the magickal implements necessary to transform him into the Adam Kadmon man (Adam Kadmon to the Cabbalist as the Logos or First Anointed, or to the Hindus; Vishnu holding the lost Veda). His/her will is extending upwards in a staff, which at the top is attached the Saturnine gift of the Anointed Dove.

The awakening knowledge of the aspirant is indicated in the twin serpents of Ida and Pingala Nadi which extend downwards from the Wings of Saturn, wrapping around the Staff and directly into the consciousness of the Fool. This hieroglyph represents that the aspirant wants to understand the mystery as badly as the cosmos wants to share it. If you can extend your will correctly, it would indicate your eventual success. 

Mr. Crowley must have had a premonition of the future, as 0 F00L is walking heel-to-tow down the length of a sixty's style longboard surfboard, all while surfing the Waves of Jupiter.  He/she is stabilized and even propelled by the Mercurial Wings (also known as Red Wings) that are attached to the legs.  Please note the surfing leash, attaching the leg to the surfboard. This would symbolize the Equilibrium that is found in the planetary aspects of Theurgy, especially after working with Mercury.  

The scribe's roll and the stylus that float nearby would indicate that for the aspirant to unravel the ineffable he/she must study and start to re-translate the mystery for him-or-herself.  Crowley presented Djehuti in the Greco-Egyptian tradition as a scribe, with the Hindu aspect of Hanuman as the Ape of Thoth. My good friend Carrie Paris recently pointed out that the ape on this card had two left feet and two left hands. The Hindu aspect of Hanuman was represented in the highly de-graded version of this Ape-God. Crowley wrote that the adepts of this sect of Hindus would send their women out into the jungles; which would somehow incarnate their Deity. Crowley finding no measurable spirituality in their practices decided to use this Ape to signify the vulgar people that tend to follow the occult scribe; then misunderstanding the Mystery will vulgarize and misrepresent the words. 

Due to either oaths of silence or because of the Apes of Thoth situation, occult writers tend to utilize diverse methods to insure that the mundane masses will either, one, not understand; or two, run away screaming in fear. It is obvious that if the modern entry-level occultist properly understood this situation, they would probably be much more open to learning from the older occult masterpieces.

The implements that surround the fool are all in action, or movement, even if they are not being actually utilized yet. The Anointed Dove that is being delivered by Saturn and the Sun, is dropping the stylus and scroll directly into his/her hands,  The Phoenix Wand appears to be flying upwards towards his right hand. The Orphic Egg has grown wings and has taken flight. The Cup, which is well within reach is filled with a swirling gaseous cloud. The Wand which is also in reach is flaming brightly.  The Pentacle with a Mercurial eight-pointed star signifies change/growth in earthly matters as well as spiritual, even magickal matters. The Sword which hovers near Hanuman (Ape of Thoth), signifies the pain/frustration aspects of the difficult situations that the vulgar bring when they misunderstand the logos.

This next-level Fool is being birthed from the womb of the goddess, which is represented in the white "V" behind our archetype. 

Notice the guide lines which are prevalent all around the image; they are emanating from X F0RTUNE and could be called the Waves of Jupiter. These guide wires are the currents of the mundane-world which can prod you off-course if you're not careful. But no worries, because if they do, just remember; "all roads lead to Rome". The 12^th path on the Tree of Life; from the Crown of Kether 1, to the Understanding of Binah 2, representing the Hebrew Aleph, and ruled by the planet Mercury, with influences from S0L, Jupiter, and Saturn; this card would represent that the seed of the ineffable has sprouted, and that the aspirant is in a period of expansion in relation to magick, occult, and personal intellectual capacity.

Interpretation: In a reading, it will usually indicate that the Querent is not bringing everything to the table in their situation. Usually the other cards will enlighten as to just-what was left on the table. It also represents that your Querent now understands the situation that the reader is revealing, and that during the time of the situation, the Querent had feelings or intuition that they did not act on. Another scenario is where the Querent had such good-intent, that they did not do everything that they could have in their situation. That combined with someone in their circle who "did not understand", took actions that have adversely affected the situation. Scenarios like the ones described above will be illuminated by the Court, Minors, and even other Trumps. 

The Mysteries: Deep in a crystal cavern directly in the heart of mother Earth, we hear the sound of chalk; franticly clicking and clacking. Approaching the chalkboard from behind, the sound of the chalk hitting the chalkboard becomes deafening, getting closer, all sound suddenly ceases. Standing directly in front of the chalkboard with a big smile and a looping hairdo: he stares at you. • As a loyal subject to Jupiter: Thoth (as Mercury or Jesus), and Venus (as the Mother), are in the direct path on the way to S0L (as the Father).
• Hermes as the "guide to the dead" is the other aspect of Mercury.
